According to AFP, a traffic jam in China has stretched into its 9th day - stranding cars for nearly 62 miles. I had to wait an extra 10 minutes leaving work on Friday due to construction and I was ready to completely lose my mind. Can't imagine a 62 mile traffic jam.
The story suggests the problem stems from construction projects that are meant to ease traffic congestion, and an increase in cargo trucks headed to Beijing.

That's why I always travel with a bedpan in the glove box.
Nine days. I smell a reality TV show.
Nine days!
Wonder how many bosses believed their excuses for getting into work late?
I remember a story from years ago from China about a spike in adult diaper sales because of the long commute by train some people had into Beijing and the lack of rest rooms. Some drivers may have thought ahead with the bedpan idea!
I wondered about the work excuse as well. "Uh hello? Boss? Yeah, I'm going to be a little late to work. How late? Ohhhhhh, let's say... a week and a half?"
You know there was one guy who thought his lane was moving too slow and pulled into a gap in the next lane only to find that lane suddenly come to comple halt. "Oh, why did I change lanes, now I'm going to be 10 days late! Crap!"
